Baby Cards using Outlines stamps The Paper Tree August 17th

If your friends and family are like mine, you need baby cards! Not only the welcome baby kind but some for showers and the "unexpected news" too. If you like Outlines, you’ll love this class. If you are not familiar with this stamp company this will be a great introduction! We’ll make four baby themed cards using the newest Outlines stamps. We’ll start out simple with a green & yellow Onesie and progress to an Outlines collage incorporating windows and Amuse bling. Please bring a pair of long bladed scissors, foam tape or pop dots and your favorite detail scissors.

Report from the Summer Trade Show

I returned late last night from the Summer CHA Trade show in Chicago, WOW! I talked to lots of folks, got tons of new ideas, located some fabulous new art products and connected with some of the most talented designers in the papercrafting world. Watch for all the fun new projects to start showing up on my fall calss schedules.

Mark Montano, author of "The Big Ass Book of Crafts" (www.amazon.com/Big-Ass-Book-Crafts-Mark-Montano/dp/1416937854 - 240k - ) and one of the designers from HGTV's "While you Were Out", had a "Craft Challenge". Yours truly got chosen to compete and ...took second place! We had 10 minutes to transform a cheap wooden picturte frame into something crafty. I love a challenge and got right to work with acryllic paints, paper flowers and a bit of patterned paper. It was crazy good fun and I was honored to be invited to compete.

Wonderful Watercolors

Using Watercolor crayons we’ll explore direct to paper and direct to rubber techniques. We’ll use Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists color neutral ribbon to use as an embellishment (Tiger Lily and Orange Daisies cards)

We’ll discuss color development and using watercolor pencils to add depth to twinkling H2Os on the Dahlia and Tulip cards.

We’ll put it all together (Glimmer Mists, Twinkling H2Os) and add some Fantasy Film when we make the Hydrangea card.

There will be several interior verses available for you to customize your card for a birthday, anniversary or whatever...
